Rescue Dog Carries Around a “Selfie” on her Ear

Lucy, a seven-year-old Pitbull mix, is capturing hearts worldwide with her black-and-white spots that remarkably resemble a selfie of none other than herself. Her sweet personality truly enchants everyone she meets and she is an example of how rescue animals can bring unexpected joy into people’s lives.
Lucy’s journey began in 2017 when Cassidy Johnson visited Lollypop Farm while living in Rochester, New York, with no intention of adopting a dog that day. However, fate had other plans when Johnson laid eyes on Lucy, one of the puppies born to a stray mother named Daisy.
"We had planned to just look at the different dogs and weren't planning on officially adopting that day. But when we saw her, we knew it was meant to be and that we couldn't leave without her."
Little did Johnson and her family know that Lucy’s most distinctive feature would be revealed later, thanks to the keen eye of a pet store worker. Lucy’s left ear spots formed an uncanny resemblance to a dog, even a selfie of Lucy herself.
“We were shocked to see the spots, and strangers often comment on the unique image,” Johnson shared. Despite occasional online trolls suggesting the images are photoshopped, Lucy’s distinctive markings are the result of more white hairs growing over time, and her “selfie” is still very visible.
Lucy, also known as @selfie_pup on Instagram, has amassed an impressive 11,000 followers on the platform. Now living in Tennessee with her “hoomans”, Cassidy Johnson describes her as a “huge couch potato” who loves to cuddle and play fetch outdoors. Lucy’s endearing personality has turned her into a viral sensation, with her story featured on various platforms.
