The collab we never knew we needed? Or…just the collab we never needed. Hidden Valley Ranch and Burt’s Bees have joined forces to create a set of lip balms that bring the flavors of ranch dressing to your lips. With a new limited edition 4-pack of balms, you can get the distinctive tastes of Hidden Valley Ranch, Buffalo Sauce, Crunchy Celery, and Fresh Carrot - straight to your lips.

The release of these savory lip balms came at the perfect time: just before the Super Bowl. Perfect for the “dry lip” season, this lip balm set aims to provide a delightful and unexpected experience for fans of both brands. Plus, everyone wants to kiss someone who tastes like ranch. It’s better than tasting like sardines (my boyfriend eats a lot of sardines).

Mariah Eckhardt, general manager at Burt’s Bees, shared the backstory: “This all started with an April Fools’ social post featuring Hidden Valley Ranch lip balm. Fans responded so enthusiastically. So, for an exciting, limited release, we’re bringing together two fan favorites - Burt’s Bees lip balm and Hidden Valley Ranch. This delightfully unexpected union comes just in time for dry lip season and game day.”

Hidden Valley Ranch, known for its original ranch dressing, has a history of interesting collaborations, including partnerships with Van Leeuwen Ranch Ice Cream and the Truff x Hidden Valley Spicy Truffle Ranch hot sauce. The brand has even ventured into non-food collaborations, such as the Hidden Valley Ranch Crocs. Yeah, I bet you didn’t realize crocs could get worse.

The limited release of the Burt’s Bees x Hidden Valley Ranch Dippers lip balm 4-pack was available for $11.99 on the Burt’s Bees website but specified that the supplies were limited. And it’s marked with a “NOT FOR CONSUMPTION” disclaimer, which seems like a surefire way to get people to…consume it. They wouldn’t have to issue a warning if it didn’t taste so good!

The response to the launch was overwhelming; the lip balm set sold out within hours. The popularity prompted resellers offering the set online for stunning prices, with most offers between $200-$250. Okay, that’s just insane. For that price, you may as well just keep ranch dressing permanently smeared on your lips.
