Unintended Mannequin Hair Drama Sparks Concern and Police Calle in New Zealand

A New Zealand woman caused quite a stir recently when she drove around town with a clump of hair protruding from her car’s trunk. Little did she know, the hair belonged to none other than “Cher,” a mannequin head she had used for hairdressing training.

Sophie Milne, a 26-year-old resident of Christchurch, was left dumbfounded when she received an unexpected call from the police last week. Authorities informed her that concerned citizens had reported a potential person trapped in her trunk, leading to a comedy of errors that left both Milne and the police in stitches.

“I couldn’t believe it when the police called me. I had no idea what they were talking about,” Milne confessed, adding that the hair had unknowingly been hanging out of her trunk for an entire week. “I just thought people were being overly cautious. Little did I know, it was all because of Cher’s luscious locks!”

The incident unfolded when multiple worried residents alerted the police, fearing that someone might be in distress. However, upon closer inspection, it became abundantly clear that the “victim” in question was, in fact, a mannequin head with impeccably styled hair.

A police spokesperson urged citizens to always report any suspicious activity or concerns for safety, highlighting the importance of taking such matters seriously. “We’d rather receive calls about potential incidents that turn out to be harmless, than not be notified of something that genuinely requires our attention,” the spokesperson emphasized.

This incident in New Zealand bears a striking resemblance to another case earlier this year in Ontario, Canada. In a similar mix-up, a dive team was hastily dispatched after a report of a body floating in a South Simcoe canal. To everyone’s relief, the “remains” turned out to be nothing more than a discarded mannequin.

While both incidents may have caused momentary panic, they serve as a reminder that sometimes the truth can be stranger than fiction. So, the next time you spot something peculiar, don’t hesitate to reach out to the authorities. After all, you never know when a mannequin head might steal the show and give everyone a good laugh!
